- An Update on Wireless Radiation and Cancer Risk A Case for Prevention, March 27, 2023
Numerous recent scientific publications have shown adverse biological effects from wireless exposure at levels well below U.S. wireless radiation exposure guidelines. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits and neurological disorders. Analyses for critical endopoints such as genetic, neurological and oxidative damage have found the majority of studies evaluated show effects.
Because current U.S. government wireless radiation limits do not cover long-term exposures and low-intensity biological effects, they are insufficient to protect public health and the environment. In fact, France and Belgium have banned the sale and advertisement of cell phones for young children and these countries, as well as several others such have banned Wi-Fi in kindergartens and restrict Wi-Fi in elementary schools. In addition, several countries have set wireless radiation limits 10 to 100 times more restrictive than the USA.
Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition Educational Modules on Cell Phones and Technology
EHT was proud to collaborate with the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition on “Lets Talk Prevention” educational modules on cell phone radiation for high school, middle school, and elementary. Please take the time to download these easy to understand educational materials and consider using them in your classroom. These resources include suggested student activities.
New Jersey Educational Association Recommendations
The New Jersey Educational Association (NJEA) article “Minimize health risks from electronic devices” is a perfect way to share simple steps to reduce physical health effects from devices, including repetitive strain injuries, neck, shoulder and back pain, blurred vision and headaches, altered sleep patterns and next-day fatigue and also wireless radiation exposure
