California
A cell tower was removed from a Ripon California elementary school after four students and three teachers were diagnosed with different forms of cancer.
In California, firefighter unions repeatedly and successfully lobbied state lawmakers to remove fire stations from the list of 5G cell tower fast track sites.
A couple in Long Beach, California stopped a 5G cell tower in front of their home and the initial hearing examiner determination included the statement that ” it does appear through reliable, credible evidence that the FCC regulations as to what are safe RF emission standards are outmoded and inadequate to safeguard the public…by way of said scientific medical evidence Appellants have shown that the FCC’s determination as to what are safe and acceptable RF emission exposure levels are antiquated and not based on current scientific evidence and that the FCC regulations are instead industry sponsored, outdated, and just plain wrong, causing the public to be exposed to unnecessary and harmful radiation.” The couple appealed the case until finally in 2023 they won and stopped the 5g tower.
Delaware
In Dewey Beach, Delaware, Verizon agreed to relocate beachfront cell towers after residents filed a lawsuit and founded the Save Dewey Beach Foundation.
Maryland
Ocean City Maryland and Montego Bay are in lawsuits regarding their small cell tower installations.
New Mexico

A cell tower was removed in Tarrytown, New York after residents protested placement near a public housing complex and playground.
Virginia

- Sir Geoff Hurst, who famously scored three of the goals that helped Englandbeat West Germany 4-2 in 1966, was one of dozens of people who objected to the giant aerial in a posh part of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. His statement of objection to the town’s planning authority: “I object to the proposed erection of the 5G mast as it will detract from the beauty of the area…It is in a conservation area, near the iconic Pump Room and adjacent to Pittville Park, the children’s playground and could be a health hazard. It may well be an obstruction/eyesore.”

- August 1, 2023 Plans to install a 5G ready mast have been withdrawn after some residents, including the headmaster of Wellington School, expressed safety concerns.
Payson Roundup: Gila County Rejects 165-Foot Cell Phone Tower at Jakes Corner
- The strenuous objection of residents prompted the Gila County Board of Supervisors to reject plans to build a 165-foot-tall cell phone tower at Jakes Corner in Tonto Basin. The county planning staff and the county planning commission both recommended approval of the application by Vertical Bridge to build the tower right behind the Jakes Corner Store next to a mobile home park. And Supervisor Tim Humphrey said the county had no authority to tell people what to build on their land so long as it complies with the county zoning ordinance – and the rules for cell phone towers.
Country Messenger: Marine City, St. Croix Council Votes Not To Approve Cell Tower Lease
- A lease proposal for a cell tower in Marine on St. Croix was halted when the Marine City Council voted not to approve a lease agreement with Vinco. Negotiations between Vinco and the City of Marine on St. Croix have been ongoing for months, but concerns from councilmembers Charlie Anderson and Lon Pardun led to the unanimous decision to not approve the lease agreement at the Nov. 9 meeting.

New Hampshire
The New Hampshire State Commission on 5G Health and Environment investigated the issue of RF radiation for a year and issued a final report recommending reducing children’s RF exposure and that the state enact a 1,640 feet cell tower setback for homes and schools.
Since 2004, the International Association of Firefighters has officially opposed cell towers on their stations “until a study with the highest scientific merit and integrity on health effects of exposure to low-intensity RF/MW radiation is conducted and it is proven that such sitings are not hazardous to the health of our members.”
