“Children learn to protect themselves from mobile phone and tablet radiation” by the Cyprus National Committee on Environment & Children’s Health 2022
The Cyprus Committee on Environment & Children’s Health has released a new public education video on children reducing cell phone and Wi-Fi radiation. The video showcases how children can learn to reduce wireless radiation, an environmental exposure linked to memory damage, cancer, and reproductive damage.
“The public awareness campaigns of the Cyprus Committee should be shared worldwide to promote children’s healthy future,” stated Theodora Scarato, Director of Environmental Health Trust a scientific think tank focused on cancer prevention.
The Cyprus National Committee on Environment & Children’s Health has developed numerous campaigns to promote healthy technology. They have brochures, and videos for parents, teenagers, and pregnant women.
In Cyprus, a 2017 Directive stated that Wi-Fi should be removed and or exposure decreased in elementary classrooms. “Necessary measures to protect children should be taken, and wireless access points should remain inactive when not in use for teaching purposes.”
The National Committee, under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, piloted a Wi-Fi and wireless reduction program in the Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal units of the Archbishop Makarios hospital. They replaced the Wi-Fi access points with wired LAN networks and launched a multimedia wireless radiation awareness program for patients and their families.
