The film “Something is in the Air” asks if the radiation from your cell phone or cell towers is harmful to your health. What about cell tower radiation impacts to bees and pollinators? Are scientific conclusions tied to the interests of those who fund the studies? How do governments make sure the radiation stays within healthy limits? How are children more vulnerable to exposures, and who has the power to make decisions about what we are exposed to?
Featuring interviews with respected scientists Dariusz Leszczynski, Anssi Auvinen, Daniel Favre, and Martin Pall, Something is in the Air explores these questions and more, revealing the science and politics behind this invisible issue that directly impacts our health, environment, and futures.

Heidi Martikainen is director and producer working on independent films from Finland. Something Is in the Air is the product of 5 years of research and development. Her previous films have been about social issues in different parts of the world. Her work has been featured on TV in Finland. She has worked with NGO’s internationally for 10 years prior to working at Flipped Media, a company producing documentaries independently. She is a journalist with a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Tampere, Finland with studies from the University of Oregon.
