The ANFR, Frances national frequency agency found the Zebra ET45CA tablet does not comply with European regulatory exposure limits for wireless radiation.
France has a robust cell phone and wireless radiation post market testing program. This is the first wireless connected object (excluding cell phones) to be pinned as exceeding limits in France! The PhoneGate Alert is a non profit organization working to raise awareness about the radiation overexposure of cell phones and wireless devices due to outdated test systems.
The Zebra ET45CA tablet was tested by the accredited German laboratory Cetecom Advanced, with a measured RF Radiation exposure SAR “member” level of 4.586 W/kg which exceeds the regulatory limit of 4W/kg SAR.
A software update was carried out by the manufacturer and tested in the laboratory to bring the exposure level down to 2.41 W/kg SAR.
PhoneGate Alert has released the news and is calling on ANFR to release the published test reports as they are not transparently posted online. PhoneGate points out that so far there have only been 7 inspections for wireless devices which are not cell phones “an unacceptable delay given the health stakes.”
