The issue of siting and exposures to towers remains one of the central public health challenges of our time. For years, policies have allowed towers to be located with the presumption that their emissions cannot constitute any threat to public health or the environment. Towers can legally be located just outside of someone’s bedroom in a dense urban environment. If a worker needs to repair that same tower, then it will be turned off to prevent his being exposed to dangerous levels. This recent analysis of leading experts in electrical engineering and medicine from Austria affirms the views of those who have long been concerned about the failure to consider public health impacts with respect to the location of towers. It will be released in a translated form soon.
