New Conference: Healing Chronic Illness in a Toxic World.

A Paradigm Shift in Medicine: Your Environment Matters.

When: Saturday, October 27, 2018

Where: Staunton, Virginia @ Mary Baldwin University

Time: 8am-5:30pm

Organized by: 2Thriving

Website: www.2thriving.com

Join a new generation of thinkers and healthcare providers who take into account the environment, the complexity of Environmentally Acquired Illness, and collaborate with experts from multiple disciplines to create true solutions to chronic illness.

2Thriving’s Healing Chronic Illness in a Toxic World conference takes you from professional theory to practical application in the same day. This one-day, workshop-format integrative health event will bring together expert clinicians, home health specialists, and public policy officials all in the same room – interacting, engaging, creating solutions – to launch an expanded perspective on healing, managing and preventing chronic disease: your environment matters.

Informative morning lecture sessions will segue into experiential afternoon small group workshops. Attendees will rotate through all four workshops to allow for engaged learning and hands-on application and interaction with the speakers and exhibitors – before leaving the conference.

Theodora Scarato, Executive Director of Environmental Health Trust, will be speaking on Prioritizing Protective Policy for Wireless and Electromagnetic Fields in the United States: Public Health Needs and Solutions for Meaningful Change. Scarato will also be leading small group afternoon workshops on actionable strategies for U.S. wireless public policy. This full-day conference is a unique opportunity to learn directly from Scarato, impact positive change on a national and global scale, and implement safe tech practices at home. Environmental Health Trust will also have a table with educational resources in the exhibit hall. Please join us!

The 2018 Healing Chronic Illness in a Toxic World conference is being organized by 2Thriving, founded by Melanie Dorion (NP), Alison Main (environmental health writer), and Christopher Buonocore (BBEC, EMRS, B.S. Indoor Health) to create innovative solutions to chronic disease and illness. Their mission is to educate healthcare clinicians and professionals on the vital connection between health and the environment in which we live, concentrated on three premises of:

The Built Environment: Our buildings and structures where we live.

The Biological Environment: Our anatomical and physiological bodies.

The Regulatory Environment: Our public policies and legal statutes.

Key Takeaways at the 2018 Conference:

  • The rising incidence of chronic health issues associated with environmental toxins, and proactive approaches to reducing exposures in everyday life.
  • The history and regulation of chemicals in the U.S., a special class of chemicals called endocrine disruptors and their unique biological properties.
  • The biological effects of electromagnetic fields and the critical role the indoor built environment plays in chronic disease.
  • How to affect positive change in public policy for wireless and emerging technologies, and how to organize community for meaningful and protective change.
  • How to assess and mitigate chemical, electromagnetic, and biological exposures in the home and/or workplace to support healing and restoration.
  • Recognizing environmental illness: testing and managing environmental toxins.
  • Diet optimization, microbial/pathogen reduction and targeted nutritional testing for patients with complex chronic illness.
